Why did we love Obsession?
Personally, this is one of my favorite movies of the past few years (it’s currently battling Bugonia for my favorite film of the last few months).
As a fan of the horror/thriller genre, this movie immediately caught my attention, especially because it was reportedly made on a very limited budget while achieving impressive box office success.
The director delivers a very clear message: be careful what you wish for.
So often, we try to force a relationship or seek love and affection from someone who simply doesn’t feel the same way. We want them to feel something that isn’t there, and sometimes we end up doing unthinkable things just to get their attention (I won’t say more to avoid spoilers).
This review may be a little late, and the movie might have already left theaters (sorry, fatherhood has kept me pretty busy), but if you get the chance to watch it at home, don’t miss it.
Remember, there is no greater act of love than respecting the people we love.
